One line
Skipper is a TV and movie tracker, crafted for every Apple screen, that answers three questions: where can I watch it, who am I watching with, and how can I pay less?
Short (57 words)
Skipper is a TV and movie tracker crafted for iPhone, iPhone Duo, iPad and Apple TV. Beyond tracking, it remembers who you watch each show with, opens any title right in its streaming app, shows which subscriptions your shows actually need, and alerts you when a movie or show arrives on a service you already pay for.
Long (about 190 words)
Skipper is a TV and movie tracker built around three questions: where can I watch it, who am I watching with, and how can I pay less?
Every show and movie lists the services you already have at the top, and one tap opens it right in the service's app. Not streaming in your country? Skipper shows where in the world your services carry it. Watching With remembers who you watch each show with, so a couple or a family keeps separate lists in one place. The Subscriptions tab shows which services your shows need this month; Skipper Pro adds a plan for pausing and rotating them, and alerts that save money: when a movie or show arrives on a service you have, and when a service has nothing left for you.
Skipper is native on iPhone, iPad and Apple TV, and ready for iPhone Duo on day one, with Liquid Glass, Dynamic Type, VoiceOver, Siri, Shortcuts, Spotlight and Top Shelf. It needs no account: the library syncs through the user's own iCloud. Skipper is free; Skipper Pro is $2.99 a month or $29.99 a year. It's made by independent developer Yoav Zoldan.
What's different
- Crafted for Apple platforms. Native on iPhone, iPad and Apple TV, with Liquid Glass, Dynamic Type, VoiceOver, Siri, Shortcuts and Spotlight. Smooth with libraries of thousands of titles.
- iPhone Duo on day one. Unfolded, the Watchlist sits beside the show you're on; folded, it's the iPhone layout, where you left off.
- A real Apple TV app. Up Next on the Home Screen (Top Shelf), click to play in the service's app, and "Did you watch S2E3?" when you come back.
- Watching With. Each show can belong to just you or to someone you watch with. Pick a person and the Watchlist, Upcoming and History show your shows together. Free.
- Where to watch, one tap to play. Every title lists the services you already have at the top and opens right in the service's app. Not streaming in your country? Skipper shows where in the world your services carry it.
- Subscriptions, and alerts that save money. Which services your shows need, month by month. Pro adds a plan and alerts: a movie or show arriving on a service you have, a service with nothing left for you.

About the maker
Yoav Zoldan is an independent developer in Chile. He designed and built Skipper on his own.
Skipper started with a question. An Apple podcast Yoav listens to kept running VPN ads that promised to unlock Netflix catalogs from around the world, and he wondered: if a show he wants isn't on Netflix in Chile, which country has it? He wanted that answer for every show on his list.
The next two features came from his own habits. About half of what he watches, he watches with his wife, so Watching With keeps a list of his shows and a list of theirs. And he was paying for every service under the sun while really using two or three at a time, so Subscriptions shows the services his shows actually need each month.
“I built Skipper for myself first, and now I'm excited to share it. I hope it saves people some searching, and a little money too.”

Trying it before launch
- Bring a history, or start small. Import an export from Trakt or Letterboxd, or add a few shows from Search.
- Pick your services. Skipper asks for them and your country when you start. You can change them in Settings.
- Open a show to see where it's streaming, then set who you watch it with.
- Open Subscriptions to see which services your shows need this month.
A TestFlight build and a free year of Skipper Pro are available on request. Write to skipper@zolgor.com.
